Skate Plates are being designed now with some of the lightest materials available on the market to give all skaters an advantage of not having the big heavy skate on their foot. Lightweight aluminum, Magnesium, and Molded Nylon are some of the newest materials being used. Plates in years past were being measured in "lbs." but today they are measured in ounces. These plates are being made with aircraft type aluminum which is unbelievably light but still durable enough to jump or crash with.
